Tinubu noted that the country is facing macroeconomic challenges, with inflation reportedly decreasing from 21% to 15%, and food prices declining, indicating a strengthening naira. He emphasized the need for a firm resolution to tackle insecurity through partnerships, particularly with the United States.

Tinubu criticized the current political landscape, suggesting that politicians should aspire to be more than just electoral candidates, referencing historical African leaders like Nkrumah and Obasanjo as examples of those who transcended mere political ambition. He stated that true statesmanship requires a commitment to the nation’s welfare over personal power, asserting that forgiveness will come when politicians demonstrate genuine statesmanship.
