M4S Calls for IBAN Chairman's Recusal Over Conflict of Interest in BON Election

M4S, a communication company, has urged IBAN Chairman Alhaji Tijani Ramalan to recuse himself from the forthcoming Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) election due to a potential conflict of interest. The call came after reports surfaced that Ramalan had acted as a guarantor for one of the aspirants, raising concerns about the fairness of the electoral process.

In a formal letter signed by Tony Uyah, the Managing Director of M4 Communications Limited, IBAN was urged to ensure transparency and fairness in the election by allowing all candidates, including Tony Akiotu and Raymond Paul Dokpesi Jr., to present their plans to BON members. The letter emphasized the importance of a neutral and unbiased election process to uphold the integrity of the media industry.

Copies of the correspondence were sent to the Chairman of IBAN, the Board of Trustees, and other relevant stakeholders.
