Victor Boniface Returns to Bayer Leverkusen After Loan

Victor Boniface has returned to Bayer Leverkusen after completing a loan spell at Werder Bremen, which he described as a "crazy season." The Nigerian striker faced numerous challenges, including injuries that hampered his performance and limited his playing time. Boniface's turbulent year began with a failed transfer to AC Milan last summer, followed by a loan to Werder Bremen, where he was sent to seek regular playing time after being deemed surplus to requirements by former coach Erik Ten Hag.

Unfortunately, Boniface struggled to secure a starting role and suffered a knee injury in December that required surgery. Although he returned to full training last month, he did not recover in time to participate in Bremen's final game of the season against Borussia Dortmund.

Following his departure from Weserstadion, Boniface thanked the fans, staff, and players of Werder Bremen for their support. His future remains uncertain as he returns to Bayer Leverkusen, where he has two years left on his contract.
