Leverkusen's Rolf Committed to Boniface's Recovery

Bayer Leverkusen's sporting director Simon Rolf stated that the club is dedicated to helping Nigerian striker Victor Boniface rediscover his best form ahead of the new season. Boniface had an impressive debut season after joining from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer of 2023, scoring 21 goals and providing nine assists in 34 appearances, contributing to Leverkusen's first Bundesliga title without suffering a defeat.

However, injuries disrupted his progress, and he managed only 11 goals and one assist in 27 appearances during the 2024-25 campaign due to recurring knee problems. His fitness issues also affected potential transfer moves to Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr and AC Milan.

Boniface's loan move to Werder Bremen was impacted by injury, and he failed to score in 11 appearances. Rolf indicated that Boniface's condition is improving, and he is expected to return to his parent club ahead of the next season, with a contract at Bayer Leverkusen running until 2028.
