Air Peace Launches New Routes to Boost African Trade

Air Peace, Nigeria’s leading carrier, has commenced operations to actualize the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) initiative by connecting business people, investors, and tourists to 13 capital cities in West and Central Africa. The AfCFTA aims to create a massive free trade zone across 54 countries, impacting 1.3 billion people and promoting a $1.4 trillion economy.

Air Peace operates from its hub in Lagos, connecting cities including Accra, Abidjan, Bamako, and others. This initiative addresses the low level of intra-African trade, which is around 15-16%, compared to 68% in Europe and 59% in Asia, largely due to poor connectivity and high travel costs.

The airline's recent launch of the Lagos–Conakry–Bamako route on August 1, 2026, marks a significant milestone in enhancing regional connectivity and trade opportunities. Air Peace also connects Nigeria to international destinations, including flights to London and plans for routes to Brazil.
