Blast in Maiduguri Injures Multiple Victims After Iftar

On Monday night, a blast in Maiduguri, Borno State, left several individuals injured, including Abacha Mustapha, who recounted the terrifying moment the explosion occurred as he was preparing to leave the market after breaking his fast. Mustapha described hearing a loud noise that caused chaos as people scrambled for safety, with many falling and shouting in confusion.

His brother quickly helped him by tying cloth around his neck to stop the bleeding before rushing him to Umaru Shehu Hospital. Medical personnel confirmed that multiple victims were brought in with various injuries, including shrapnel wounds and burns.

The explosion targeted a busy area as traders were closing for the day. The Nigerian Army has raised alarms about the possibility of multiple suicide bombers in Maiduguri, urging residents to avoid crowded places.

The attack reportedly resulted in 23 fatalities and 108 injuries, with the North East Joint Task Force confirming the incident and conducting security operations in the area.
