Borno Governor Calls for Intensified Nigerian Air Force Operations Against Insurgents

Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has urged the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to increase its operations against insurgents in the region. In a meeting with the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, Governor Zulum emphasized the need for heavier air power to dislodge Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters in remote and rugged areas.

He acknowledged the NAF's efforts but stressed the importance of aerial operations in inaccessible areas. The governor praised the growing synergy between the NAF and security agencies, highlighting recent gains in counterinsurgency.

Air Marshal Abubakar commended Governor Zulum's leadership and the innovative Borno Model for deradicalization. The meeting emphasized the critical role of aerial firepower in tackling insurgency and restoring peace in the region.
