BPSR Advocates Digital Resilience for Nigeria's Economy

Mr. Dasuki Arabi, the Director General of the Bureau of Public Service Reform (BPSR), spoke at the 2026 Information Technology Professionals Assembly held at the NAF Conference Centre.

He emphasized the necessity of digital resilience as a critical driver in Nigeria's transition to a smart economy. Arabi noted that digital technology has become the backbone of modern governance, commerce, education, healthcare, security, and public service delivery.

He highlighted the government's pursuit of digital transformation and the need for resilient, secure, and inclusive systems as outlined in the national strategy for public service reform. The BPSR aims to champion digital transformation across ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) by adopting artificial intelligence and enhancing digital literacy.

Arabi stressed that a smart economy guarantees access to opportunities for innovation and citizen participation, regardless of gender or social status. He warned that significant segments of the population remain digitally excluded, underscoring the importance of addressing cybersecurity threats and misinformation.
