Court Halts PDP Convention, Orders INEC in Fresh Twist

In a fresh twist to the ongoing crisis within the People's Democratic Party (PDP), a court in Abuja has halted the party's national convention scheduled to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State. Justice Peter Lifu ruled on Friday to suspend the convention until former governor Lamido, who was unjustly denied the opportunity to contest, is included.

This ruling has further complicated the internal power struggles and factional loyalty wars within the PDP. Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has urged the party leadership to address the deeper crisis within the opposition party.
