Dangote Refinery Cuts Petrol Price by N1.25 per Liter

Dangote Refinery announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of premium motor spirit (petrol) by N1.25 per liter, bringing the price down to N1.075 per liter. This marks the fourth price cut within one month, with a cumulative reduction of N200 per liter since May 30, 2026.

The company stated that the latest adjustment reflects a commitment to ensuring that Nigerians benefit from favorable developments in the international oil market while sustaining the viability of local refining operations. The reduction is expected to influence fuel prices across the country, aligning pump prices with the new ex-depot rates.

Additionally, the refinery has cut the ex-depot price of automotive gas oil (diesel) to N300 per liter and jet A1 aviation fuel to N520 per liter. The company emphasized that these price decisions are based on actual product costs and inventory values rather than temporary fluctuations in global crude oil prices.

The refinery aims to enhance domestic refining capacity and reduce Nigeria's dependence on imported petroleum products.
