Amaechi Accepts Vice Presidential Nomination with Atiku

Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has accepted the offer to be Atiku Abubakar's running mate in the upcoming presidential election, representing the African Democratic Congress (ADC). This development was confirmed by Sampson, the past chairman of the ADC in Rivers State, who responded affirmatively when asked about Amaechi's acceptance of the nomination for the vice-presidential candidacy.

The ADC recently held its presidential primary, where Atiku Abubakar emerged as the standard bearer with a significant victory, securing 1,855,787 votes against Amaechi's 509,397 votes and businessman Moham Hayatu Deen's 180,903 votes. Although Amaechi had previously expressed no interest in the vice-presidential candidacy, a reconciliation meeting with Atiku at Transcorp Hilton in Abuja appears to have facilitated this political breakthrough.

Atiku reportedly urged both Amaechi and Hayatu Deen to unite for the sake of Nigeria's democracy, emphasizing collaboration over competition. An official announcement regarding Amaechi's new role is expected soon.
