BREAKING: Amaechi Is the Last Person ADC Will Give Its Presidential Ticket To – Wike

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has stated that former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi will not be considered for the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 general election. Wike made this declaration during an interview on the Politics Today program on Channels Television.

Amaechi had recently claimed that he could end corruption within one month if elected president in 2027 and expressed confidence in defeating President Bola Tinubu in the next election. However, Wike dismissed Amaechi's assertions, stating that he is not a viable political candidate and would be the last person the ADC would consider for its ticket.

Wike pointed out that Amaechi had previously been defeated in the 2014 and 2015 governorship elections and failed to secure 15 percent of the vote in Rivers State. Amaechi is reportedly among several opposition figures seeking to form a coalition platform to challenge Tinub.
