Appeal Court Adjourns PDP Convention Dispute Indefinitely

The Appeal Court has adjourned the dispute involving the People's Democratic Party (PDP) indefinitely, following a session held in Ibadan. The court granted the PDP leave to resolve the dispute amicably outside the courtroom.

During the proceedings, the panel of justices advised the party to explore peaceful settlement options. The court ruled that the PDP failed to reach an agreement and urged counsel representing the party to provide proper guidance to facilitate a peaceful resolution.

Additionally, the court cautioned lawyers to be mindful of time, especially in light of the recent release of the electoral timetable by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The Appeal Court's session in Abuja followed a previous PDP convention held in Ibadan, which produced Kabiru Turaki as the national chairman.

The three-member panel of the Appeal Court, led by Justice James Omotosho, held that the appeal filed by the PDP lacked merit and resolved four issues raised against the party, affirming the ruling delivered on October 31 by the Federal High Court of Nigeria.
