Court Allows Senator Kingibe to Continue ADC Activities

On Thursday, the Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Peter Lifu, declined a request to prevent Senator Ireti Kingibe from engaging in activities of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The application was filed by members of the Wuse Ward executive committee, reportedly loyal to Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, who sought an interim injunction to restrain Kingibe from participating in party activities.

Justice Lifu ruled that the request must be handled carefully and fairly, allowing the defendant the opportunity to respond to the allegations. The court ordered that documents be served to Senator Kingibe to enable her to prepare her defense against a suit filed by Okezuo Godfrei, Anayo Isaiah, and Ojonugwa Samuel, who claim she was suspended on March 10, 2026, for alleged anti-party activities and misconduct.

The matter has been adjourned to April 20, 2026, for a hearing on the pending application.
