Court Grants Nnamdi Kanu Extension to Open Defense Against Terrorism Charges

The Federal High Court in Abuja has given Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a final deadline to open his defense against terrorism charges brought by the federal government. Kanu maintains there are no valid charges against him and has challenged the court's jurisdiction.

The judge granted a fresh extension until November 7 for Kanu to reconsider his decision. The court urged Kanu to seek guidance from legal practitioners familiar with criminal procedures.

The prosecution requested the court to enforce its order for Kanu to open his defense.
