Dangote Group Reinstates Sacked Refinery Workers After Negotiations

Dangote Group has agreed to reinstate refinery workers who were recently sacked, following pressure from the Nigerian government and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN). The Federal Government confirmed the reinstatement after negotiations led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Mohammed Maigari Dingyadi.

The workers will be redeployed within the group with full pay and protection from victimization. The resolution came after PENGASSAN accused Dangote Group of unfair dismissals and targeting union members, leading to a tense standoff.

The agreement averts potential disruptions in Nigeria's energy supply chain, as the refinery workers' reinstatement ensures operational stability within the Dangote Group.
