Breaking: Edo PDP Pioneer Chairman Is Dead, Details Emerge

Solomon Aguele, the pioneer chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, has passed away. Aguele served as the chairman from 1999 to 2007.

The news was confirmed by the caretaker chairman of the party, Anthony Aziegbemi, who praised Aguele for his dedication and service to the party. This comes after the recent deaths of other PDP chairmen, including Fatai in Edo State and Chief Victor Bala Kona in Taraba State.

The passing of these prominent figures has been met with sadness and condolences from party members. Additionally, Barrister Jesutega Onokpasa, a prominent chieftain of the ruling Progressives Congress (APC), also reportedly passed away in June 2025.

The cause of his death has not been disclosed.
