The Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has published a wanted person notice for businessman Abdullahi Bashir Haske, dismissing claims that the action was politically motivated. The EFCC clarified that Haske was declared wanted strictly on allegations of criminal conspiracy and money laundering, not for political reasons.

The agency urged the public to provide any useful information on Haske's whereabouts. Responding to claims of political motivation, the EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, described them as baseless, emphasizing that Haske had been under investigation for a long time and had absconded.

Oyewale stated that Haske had been granted administrative bail but jumped the process, leading to the decision to declare him wanted. The EFCC maintained that their actions were guided by the law and evidence, not politics.
