Fatai Owoseni Withdraws from Oyo Accord Governorship Primary

Fatai Owoseni, the former police commissioner of Lagos State and a former security adviser to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, announced his withdrawal from the Oyo Accord governorship primary in a statement released on Tuesday via X. He cited recent developments within the party that made it difficult for him to thrive in the governorship race.

Owoseni expressed deep sympathy for the victims of a recent terrorist attack in Ogbomoso and highlighted the fear and uncertainty faced by affected families. He alleged that there were orchestrated moves within the party aimed at frustrating his aspirations and that political interests had infiltrated the party structure to maintain control over the state.

He also mentioned the emergence of violence as a destabilizing factor within the party. Despite his withdrawal, Owoseni assured his continued support for the development of Oyo State and expressed gratitude to his supporters.
