FG Approves Lifetime Salary Benefits for Retiring Senior Officers in Nigeria

The Federal Government has approved a new welfare policy granting lifetime salary benefits to retiring senior officers in Nigeria. The announcement was made during the 2025 Ministerial Retreat in Abuja by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi.

The policy, signed by the Federal Fire Service, ensures that officers retiring at the rank of Deputy Controller and Comptroller will receive lifetime salary benefits. This move, approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aims to enhance institutional performance and officer welfare.

The policy emphasizes promotions based on capacity and performance rather than seniority alone, with a focus on professionalism and capacity building within the Fire Service.
