FG Bans Admission and Transfer into SS3 in Nigerian Schools

The Federal Government of Nigeria has implemented a ban on admitting and transferring students into SS3 in secondary schools across the country. This decision aims to combat the increasing incidents of exam malpractice, especially during final year examinations.

The Ministry of Education disclosed that the policy will be effective from the 2026/2027 academic session, restricting admissions and transfers to SS1 and SS2 only. Schools are mandated to comply fully with the new policy, with violations attracting appropriate sanctions.

The move is part of efforts to strengthen the integrity and credibility of Nigeria's education system, particularly at the senior secondary level.
