Nigerian Government Bans Pre-Primary 6 Graduation Ceremonies, Orders Textbook Reuse

The Nigerian government has introduced a new education policy framework aimed at easing financial pressure on parents by promoting the reuse of high-quality textbooks. The Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, and the State Education Minister, Prof.

Suiwaba Sai, jointly unveiled the policy, emphasizing the prohibition of disposable workbooks and textbooks. The reform includes limiting the number of approved textbooks per subject and grade level to enhance quality and reduce market saturation.

The move also aims to streamline the education system and ensure consistent teaching and learning practices nationwide.
