FG Releases 2026 Common Entrance Exam Results in Abuja

The Federal Government of Nigeria announced the release of the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) results on Thursday in Abuja. Prof.

Suwaiba Ahmad, the Minister of State for Education, reported that 70,357 candidates registered for the exam, which was held on June 6, 2026. Out of this number, 66,950 candidates successfully sat for the examination, while 3,407 were absent.

The highest score recorded was 202 marks, achieved by 10 outstanding candidates. Additionally, 82 candidates recorded the lowest score of four marks.

Prof. Ahmad emphasized that the NCEE serves as a qualifying test for admission into junior secondary schools across the country, particularly into the Federal Government Colleges, commonly known as Unity Colleges.

The admission criteria remain unchanged, with a formula of 60% merit, 30% equal state representation, and 10% exigency. The results were formally presented by Prof.

Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi, the registrar of NECO.
