NECO Releases 2026 BECE Results and Re-sit Schedule

The National Examinations Council (NECO) announced the release of the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results, with 186,291 candidates registered for the exams across 12 subjects. The examinations were conducted from April 20 to April 30, 2026.

The announcement was made by Azeez Sani, the Director of Public Relations, following a successful meeting of the award committee held at NECO's headquarters in Minna, Niger State. The meeting was chaired by Folak Olatunji, the Director of Basic Education in the Ministry of Education, and attended by David, representing the Minister of Education, Dr.

Maruf Tunji Alausa. The committee expressed satisfaction with the process leading to the results' release.

Additionally, a re-sit examination for candidates who were deficient in Mathematics and English is scheduled for July 22-23, 2026, allowing these candidates to gain the necessary certification for admission into Senior Secondary School (SSS1) without repeating the full academic year.
