Nigerian FG, States, LGs Share ₦1.969 Trillion Revenue in FAAC Meeting

The Federal Government, state governments, and local government councils in Nigeria distributed a total revenue of ₦1.969 trillion during a Federal Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting in Abuja in January 2026. This allocation included ₦1.084 trillion in statutory revenue, ₦846.507 billion in value-added tax revenue, and ₦38.110 billion in general electronic money transfer levy revenue.

The total gross revenue available was ₦2.585 trillion, with the amount distributed reflecting an increase compared to the previous month. The Federal Government received ₦653.500 billion, state governments received ₦706.469 billion, and local government councils received ₦513.272 billion.

Notably, there were significant increases in company income tax, capital gains tax, stamp duty, import duty, and value-added tax revenue. However, some revenue sources like excise duty, petroleum profit tax, and electronic money transfer levy recorded decreases during the period.
