Governor Fintiri Defects from PDP to APC for Development

On Friday, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri announced his defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a statewide broadcast. He stated that his decision followed extensive consultations and was made in consideration of the future growth and stability of Adamawa State.

Fintiri emphasized that the move aims to accelerate development and improve governance outcomes for the people of Adamawa. He highlighted the importance of aligning with the APC to create broader opportunities for collaboration with the federal government, which would attract infrastructural and economic benefits to the state.

Fintiri's defection comes as he joins other PDP officials across Adamawa State in switching allegiance to the APC, which currently controls 31 out of 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
