APC Cancels Adamawa Congress Amid Fintiri's Defection Plans

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the cancellation of the local government ward congress in Adamawa State, originally scheduled for February 17, 2026. This decision comes in light of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri's preparations to defect from the APC to the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

The APC's national chairman, Prof. Nentaw Yilwatda, and the national secretary, Ajibola Basiru, confirmed that a new date for the congress will be communicated to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
