Gunmen Kidnap Bayo Adelabu’s Sister and Children in Oyo

On Wednesday, gunmen abducted Olaid Busayo Adegok, the younger sister of former Minister of Power and 2027 governorship aspirant Bayo Adelabu, in the Elewura area of Ibadan, Oyo State. The incident occurred as Adegok was dropping her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, at school.

The assailants intercepted her vehicle, a Kia Sonata, at gunpoint, forcing her to abandon the car. Eyewitnesses reported that the kidnappers fired sporadic gunshots into the air, causing panic among residents and passersby.

The family of Adegok confirmed the incident and stated that relevant security agencies had been notified to commence investigations. Efforts are ongoing to secure the safe release of the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.

This kidnapping follows a recent incident in Oyo State where 47 pupils and a teacher were abducted, highlighting ongoing security challenges in the region.
