Gunmen Kidnap Bayo Adelabu's Sister and Sons in Ibadan

On June 3, 2026, Olaid Busayo Adegok, sister of Bayo Adelabu, a former minister of power and current governorship aspirant for the APC in Oyo State, was kidnapped alongside her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, in Ibadan. The abduction took place around 7:30 AM as she was dropping her children off at school in the Ibadan South West Local Government Area.

Armed gunmen forcibly took Adegok and her sons during the incident. Adebayo Adelabu expressed deep distress over the situation and confirmed that the family is hopeful for a safe return.

Security agencies have been contacted, and preliminary investigations are underway to ensure the victims' safe rescue and to apprehend those responsible for the crime. The family has appealed to the public to remain calm and avoid speculation that could jeopardize ongoing security operations.
