10,000 Opposition Members Set to Join APC Ahead of 2027

The All Progressives Congress (APC) announced its readiness to absorb over 10,000 defectors from several opposition parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and the Democratic Congress (NDC), ahead of the 2027 general elections. This movement is organized under the Maji Johnson Bello (MJB) Movement.

On Tuesday, September 8, executive members of the MJB Movement visited the APC National Secretariat in Abuja to initiate preparations for a formal ceremony following consultations with APC leadership. Comrade Jibrin Bancir, Personal Private Secretary to APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, received the delegation and noted that the incoming membership would significantly enhance the party's grassroots reach.

MJB Movement Chairman Maji Johnson Bello stated that their decision to join the APC was based on confidence in President Bola's economic reform agenda and was not politically opportunistic. The formal defection will launch a broader mobilization campaign to attract more Nigerians to the APC before the elections.
