INEC Updates PDP Executives Amid Internal Struggles

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has updated its official political party portal, removing Ahm Yayari Daniel from his position within the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and listing Mackson Oladiran as the new National Treasurer and Eyim Donatu Henri as the new Financial Secretary. This update comes amid ongoing internal power struggles within the PDP, particularly involving factions led by Nyesom Wike and Kabiru Tanimu Turaki.

Ahm Yayari Daniel was affiliated with the Turaki faction, which supports Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde. The updated list reflects the camp loyal to Wike, who is recognized by the commission.

The previous roster included Daniel, causing confusion. The leadership contest within the PDP has been contentious, with a court case regarding the validity of a prior convention in Ibadan, which was later nullified by an Abuja court appeal, setting aside the election of Turaki as national chairman.
