PDP Completes Candidate Upload for 2027 Elections

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) confirmed the successful upload of its presidential and National Assembly candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal ahead of the 2027 elections. The initial deadline set by INEC was July 11, which was later extended to July 14 due to pressure from political parties.

Despite the extension, the PDP met the original deadline, with Honour Abdulrahman Moham, the chair of the National Working Committee (NWC), describing the completion of the exercise as a significant milestone. He informed PDP members that the party successfully uploaded the names of its presidential candidates and running mates, as well as National Assembly candidates, onto the INEC portal.

The PDP aims to demonstrate its commitment to contesting the 2027 elections and plans to conclude the upload of governorship and state house assembly candidates. The Labour Party (LP) also reported compliance with the deadline, uploading 90% of its candidates for the National Assembly.
