Aisha Yesufu Critiques NDC Over Senatorial Ticket Issues

Aisha Yesufu, an activist, publicly criticized the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Secretariat, expressing her frustrations over the party's inability to secure a senatorial ticket for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) ahead of the 2027 elections. In a video that surfaced on social media, Yesufu stated that she has "endured enough" and highlighted issues with the party's internal processes, including the postponement of primaries and changes to venues at the last minute.

She announced her intent to contest for the FCT senatorial seat on May 6, joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after initially being with the NDC. However, on May 29, she revealed that the NDC did not conduct primaries for the seat, which she claimed was a predetermined outcome.

Yesufu asserted that the process was heavily manipulated against her, and she would not withdraw from the race. Her comments drew reactions, including mockery from Nyesom Wike, a minister in the Federal Capital Territory, who commented on her failure to win the ordinary primaries.
