Aisha Yesufu Alleges Manipulation in NDC Primary Process

Aisha Yesufu, a human rights activist and former senatorial aspirant for the National Democratic Coalition (NDC), alleged that the FCT senatorial primary was manipulated and predetermined, with decisions made in a closed room rather than through a transparent democratic process. She stated that the primary process was deeply flawed, as it involved repeated postponements and last-minute changes without adequate explanation.

Yesufu emphasized that the outcome did not reflect the voices of the delegates, asserting that the process was not just or fair. Despite her disappointment, she chose not to challenge the outcome in court, believing that the political system in Nigeria is designed to wear people down.

Yesufu expressed pride in her grassroots campaign team and highlighted the need for internal reforms within the NDC to strengthen its platform for the 2027 presidential elections. She remains committed to advocating for societal change through active participation in governance.
