Keyamo Urges Jonathan to Reject PDP Nomination

Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, has called on former President Goodluck Jonathan to immediately reject his nomination as the sole presidential candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2027 elections. Keyamo described the nomination process as a "bizarre comedy" and warned that accepting it could harm Jonathan's global image.

He emphasized that the faction nominating Jonathan is not officially recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The warning follows a nomination ceremony led by Kabiru Turaki's faction of the PDP, which took place in Abuja amid security operations that blocked access to the original venue.

Prominent party chieftains, including Fred Agbedi, were present at the event. Keyamo's statement reflects concerns about the legitimacy of the nomination process and the potential repercussions for Jonathan's reputation in the political arena.
