Katsina Government Orders Closure of Public Schools Amid Security Threats

The Katsina State Government has ordered the closure of all public schools in the state to safeguard students and teachers from security threats after recent bandit attacks. The closure is temporary and will remain in effect until a thorough security review is completed, especially in high-risk areas like Jibia.

This decision comes in the wake of heightened anxiety following the abduction of secondary school students in Kebbi and Niger State. Normal academic activities will resume once security assessments are completed.

Yusuf Sulaiman, the Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, emphasized the government's commitment to protecting lives and property.
