Kenneth Okonkwo Responds to Peter Obi's Demand Letter

Kenneth Okonkwo, a lawyer and public affairs analyst, officially replied to a pre-action demand letter sent by former presidential candidate Peter Obi. The letter, dated June 9, 2026, threatened a 5 billion naira defamation lawsuit following Okonkwo's allegations of fraud and extortion during the Nigerian Democratic Congress party primaries.

In his formal reply, issued on June 16, 2026, Okonkwo's legal team from Supreme God Chamber firmly rejected the defamation claims, stating that his remarks were based on true information provided directly to him by an aggrieved aspirant. The letter also denied that Okonkwo defamed Obi during a television appearance.

Additionally, it revealed that Okonkwo acted on behalf of his client, Obunik Ohaegbu, who claimed to have paid 10 million naira for a security ticket to the NDC, describing the situation as a scam orchestrated by Obi's party. Okonkwo's legal team criticized Obi for publishing Okonkwo's personal phone number on social media, citing it as a severe data breach and invasion of privacy, and warned of potential legal action in response.
