Major General Rabe Abubakar's Widow Rescued by Troops

Hajiya Amina Abubakar, the widow of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, was rescued by Nigerian Army troops after being abducted alongside her husband on May 30 while traveling along the Marabar Musawa-Kafinsoli road in Matazu Local Government Area, Katsina State. The couple was held captive by bandits in a hideout.

Following the death of Major General Abubakar, military sources reported that Hajiya Amina remained in captivity until the rescue operation was conducted. The operation, known as Clean Sweep III, involved troops making contact with the bandits in Tunga Village during a search mission.

Under heavy military pressure, the bandits fled, abandoning Hajiya Amina, who was subsequently rescued by soldiers. She received immediate first aid and was evacuated to a medical facility for urgent treatment.

Military authorities have intensified operations across the area to maintain pressure on the bandits, with ongoing efforts to dismantle their hideouts and bring justice for the attacks.
