General Rabe Abubakar's Body and Wife Released in Katsina

The body of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar was released along with his wife, who was freed from captivity, during funeral prayers held in Katsina. The release occurred after the general's death while in custody.

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) confirmed the release of both individuals, stating that the intention was to withhold commentary regarding the incident to avoid jeopardizing ongoing rescue operations executed by the armed forces and security agencies. The statement was signed by Major General Samaila Uba, the Director of Defence Information.

The funeral prayers took place on a Saturday, with family members, military officials, and government representatives gathering to pay their final respects. General Abubakar was recognized for his distinguished service to the nation in various high-profile capacities, including as a spokesperson for different military formats.
