Nigerian Military Admits Coup Plot Against President Tinubu, High-Ranking Officials Arrested

The Nigerian military high command has acknowledged a coup plot against President Tinubu, leading to the arrest of top military officials, including captains and brigadier generals, by the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA). A panel has been set up to investigate the detained officers, with a directive to submit a report to President Tinubu.

The military officials involved will face a formal arraignment and trial according to military regulations. Public reactions have called for the publication of the names of all coup plotters and severe punishment for the guilty parties.

Notably, civilians have also been arrested for collaborating with the military in the coup attempt.
