National Assembly Issues Fresh Orders Over Tinubu's Tax Laws Amid Controversy

The National Assembly has issued new directives concerning tax laws signed by President Bola Tinubu, aiming to address public controversies and ensure the integrity of the legislative process. The orders include the gazetting of key tax reform laws such as the Nigeria Tax Act 2025 and the establishment acts for various revenue-related bodies.

The move follows allegations of improper passage and alterations to the laws. The House spokesman, Akin Rotimi, stressed the importance of adhering to constitutional powers and transparency in the legislative process.

The Senate President and House Speaker also emphasized the commitment to upholding the rule of law and urged Nigerians to allow due institutional reviews to take place.
