BREAKING: NCAA Bans Phone Use During Aircraft Take-Off and Landing

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has banned the use of mobile phones during aircraft take-off and landing due to safety and security concerns following recent incidents of unruly passenger behavior. The decision was announced during the National Civil Aviation Security Committee (NCASC) meeting in Abuja, where Captain Chris Najomo emphasized the importance of addressing such incidents to maintain public trust in the aviation sector.

The NCAA will be issuing an official memo to airlines to update their protocols accordingly. Additionally, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, stressed the need for passengers to comply with crew instructions to ensure flight safety.

The agency also highlighted the importance of continuous training for aviation staff to prevent future security lapses. This move comes in the wake of recent controversies, including an incident involving entertainer KWAM 1 and a dispute with cabin crew.

The NCAA urged aviation security agencies to tighten enforcement measures to prevent future breaches.
