Breaking: Nigerian Governor Declares Fresh Public Holiday, Gives Reason

Governor Mallam Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has declared Wednesday, August 27, 2025, a public holiday to mark the 34th anniversary of the state's creation on August 27, 1991. The aim of the holiday is to foster development in the state, which was created alongside Yobe, Enugu, and Kogi States at the time.

The Head of Service, Muhammad Dagaceri, encouraged residents to join in the festivities and activities planned across the state to celebrate the special day. Governor Namadi's administration congratulated Jigawa indigenes on this milestone and urged them to pray for the state's continued blessings and peaceful coexistence.

The day is meant for public servants and residents to reflect and give thanks to Allah for the state's unity and development as it moves towards its 35th year.
