Nnamdi Kanu Withdraws Defense Plan, Court Adjourns Trial

Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has decided to withdraw his earlier plan to open a defense in court against alleged terrorism charges. During the trial on October 24, Kanu informed the court of his intent to summon witnesses to testify on his behalf.

However, on Monday, he reviewed the case file and argued that there were no valid charges against him, describing the trial as unlawful. Justice Jame Omotosho presiding over the matter directed Kanu to file a written address and forgo calling witnesses.

The case has been adjourned to November 4-6 for final written addresses based on Kanu's position that the charges presented so far have failed to establish a case against him.
