The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is under scrutiny for alleged multi-trillion naira revenue leakages, leading to a final deadline set by the House of Representatives' Public Accounts Committee. The committee chairman, Bamidele Salam, expressed frustration over NNPC's repeated non-appearance at sessions, citing concerns of withheld or unaccounted revenue.

Lawmakers rejected NNPC's excuses and demanded compliance, emphasizing the corporation's accountability to parliamentary oversight. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has also demanded independent scrutiny of NNPC's financial operations.
