Nigerian Senate Slams NNPC Over Alleged ₦210 Trillion Missing Funds

The Nigerian Senate's Public Accounts Committee criticized NNPC for missing funds and financial discrepancies amounting to ₦210 trillion. NNPC's CEO, Bayo Ojulari, faced scrutiny for financial irregularities and disrespecting the Senate.

The committee discovered inconsistencies in NNPC's financial statements from 2017 to 2023, including questionable expenses and revenue. NNPC's subsidiary, NAPIM, was accused of illegally charging subsidies on crude oil and petroleum products.

The Senate demanded explanations and a refund of the alleged missing funds to the national treasury.
