Nigerian Government Denies Genocide Allegations by US Comedian Bill Maher

The Nigerian Federal Government has refuted claims by US comedian Bill Maher of genocide against Christians in Nigeria. Maher alleged killings and church burnings in Northern Nigeria, which the government labeled as false and baseless.

The Ministry of Information, led by Mohammed Idris, denounced the allegations as a misrepresentation of the security challenges faced by the country. Nigeria, like many others, battles terrorism and criminal activities, not a systematic attack on Christians.

The government condemned the accusations as harmful and divisive, aiming to maintain peace and unity among religious groups in the country.
