NUPENG Exposes Dangote's Monopolistic Scheme in Free Petrol Distribution

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has accused Dangote Petroleum Refinery of concealing a monopolistic agenda through a purported free petrol distribution scheme. NUPENG alleges that Dangote's plan to provide free fuel in selected states is a tactic to undermine union activities and eliminate competition in the petroleum trucking sector.

The accusations arose after a dispute where Dangote Group denied monopoly intentions and a planned fuel price increase, claiming the allegations were aimed at preventing tanker drivers from joining NUPENG. Despite government intervention, NUPENG maintains that Dangote violated agreements by allegedly instructing drivers to remove union stickers from trucks.
