Dangote Group President Accuses NUPENG of Inflating Fuel Prices with Truck Levies

Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, accuses NUPENG of inflating fuel prices through truck levies, claiming it directly impacts consumers. Dangote condemned the practice as exploitative and unsustainable, stating it increases costs per truck.

He highlighted the burden on consumers and emphasized the need for efficiency in the downstream oil sector. Dangote revealed the company's move to establish a fleet of compressed natural gas (CNG) trucks to counter the situation.

He also defended the company's stance on union membership, citing voluntary participation as per Nigerian laws. The dispute arose from NUPENG's alleged imposition of charges on Dangote's fuel trucks, prompting the company to take proactive measures.
