Breaking: PDP Zones 2027 Presidential Ticket, Details Emerge

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the zoning of the 2027 presidential ticket to the South, following a decision made at the party's 102nd National Executive Committee meeting on Monday, August 25, 2025. The decision was based on a report presented by the Zoning Committee chaired by Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri.

The party expressed satisfaction with the level of preparation for the November elective convention in Ibadan, Oyo state. The move comes as the PDP faces challenges with dwindling support and defections to other parties.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan's potential return to the party has sparked hope for revitalization. Meanwhile, FCT Minister and former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has indicated his willingness to support a candidate who will promote Nigeria's growth and protect the country's interests in the 2027 election.
